Raspberry Picking...

Petersfield

Something I used to enjoy doing with my parents as a teenager was strawberry picking, the joy of choosing your own fruit and taking them home as goodies at the end of it.
Me and Dan have never taken Taylor before and I have been desperate to take him all summer holidays.
Now it's almost over, (one more week) with my little man we are going to make it last.

I also think it is very important for children in general to learn where fruit comes from and how you get it.
We also learnt today that Raspberry bushes attract lots of Wasps and Queen Bees, and are prickley!

But so long as they are having lots of fun, it doesn't matter.
It makes fruit fun! :)

After searching Google this morning (very last minute as usual) for a local Strawberry picking area we found our farm!

It's been such a beautiful day for this so the shorts were out and the cardigans were left at home!

Unfortunatly when we arrived there were no Strawberries ready to be picked.
Raspberries, Blackberries & Blueberries
were to be picked for the EYLES/MASTERMAN crew today!

Making our way to the bushes to start harvesting.

They have 3 sizes of punnets
  1/2kg
1kg
&
2kg

we went for the 1/2 and would go back for more if we fancied it!

T Mans top from Primark says
'Mum thinks she's in charge - (back) but really it's me'

This is not a fact!

Seeing as this is his first fruit picking session, he did really well,
we had a little bit of complaining from the prickly parts of the branch but thoroughly enjoyed it!

I really recommend it!

I even tried this picking fruit malarkey!

This farm also grew vegetables, from spinach to carrots
which daniel and taylor are trying to pull out themselves.

There were quite a few rude ones lying around! Hehe.

Lots and lots of berries!

We headed to the farm shop and looked at all the exotic condiments they had to offer!

Olives, marmalades and sauces!

We took away two corn on the cobs, which taste far better than Tesco's!

Now I think £3.70 for a huge punnet of berries and two corn on the cobs is a bargain!

I recommend this place for anyone it was a lovely afternoon out!

30 Day Snap.. Number 24.. Tired!

My god, I feel exhausted

after such a hectic weekend working with early mornings

and 12 hour days!

I am now back to reality, however last night I woke up many times

thinking I was on set, and was struggling to find things that weren't there!

Lovely!

And to top it off my son is deciding it will be fun to

have a tantrum a day for the whole summer holidays

Jesus! This is gonna be a fun break!

If any parents want to give me advice on what to do when your child screams his head off, it would be very welcome!

30 Day Snap.. Number 9.. Jump!

After school

me and Taylor

walked to the green near our house, had a bit of a play and an ice cream.

Taylor was enjoying himself, running up and jumping over the pathway!

We then walked home and collapsed on the sofa.

Look at him go!

My Cornish Pasties...

I'm being very organized, I have cooked in advanced and thought I would share my skills with you guys!

I know what you're thinking Mum,
'What! Shes Organizing herself!'

Yes, because tomorrow I will be working all day
and picking Taylor up and getting home around 6pm
I need something to just bung in the oven and cook quickly for
The Troublesome One

Good Ol' Fashioned Veggie Pasties.

To make, Two Adult or Two Kiddie and One Adult - sized pasties

You will need ...

Four smallish White Potatos

Two and a Half Carrots

A handful of Green Beans

Puff Pastry

Seasoning and a rolling pin

Strong cheese, it makes it taste much more cheesey

Once you've cut all the veg into small chunks,

grated a ton! Of cheese

and sorted out what you need

you cut the pasty into sections

Roll out your piece into a squarish shape.
Mines not square at all!

Place all contents into the center/slightly to one of the corners.

With the kids Pasty, don't add any extra Salt or Pepper.
Salt is not needed in their diet/there is enough in the cheese
and They may not like the spicyness of Pepper

I made Two Kiddies and One Adult.

With cooking the pasty

you have to set the Oven to Gas Mark 7 // 220°C
for 20 minutes

Then turn it down to Gas Mark 3 // 140°C
 for 20  minutes

And then turn the oven off for 20 minutes

because the veg is raw you have a make the edging tight so the steam cooks it perfectly!

and the finished result is this!

Serve with Baked Beans and your good to go!

Throwback Thursday...

I can't wait for the weekend

this week has been manic

and stressful

and crazy.

So here is a quick and cute post

with an oldie picture of me :)

Me sat in a box, watching Sesame Street.

Apparently I used to sleep with my legs up the wall too.

It was pretty comfy at the time.

Friday Favourites Volume 2..

Today is a mixture of favourites
some of these I have had for years!

Honestly since I was like - 15, I'm now 23.
Haha.

  001. Argos Theo Bed Frame - Chocolate
a purchase for next month!

002. + 004. Urban Decay, Deluxe Shadow Box
this is the first palette I ever bought
and still love it.

You can see my look with this palette (here)

003. T Boy's Footy Boots
next to Daniels shoes to compare the size.

(my neighbours had a baby last week, it made me think about how big my boy is now. Yet he is still small and cute!)

005. I read about it in my InStyle Magazine
It's a new trend for nails called:

Dip-Dye

I'm gonna try it and let you guys know how I got on.

Have a lovely, chilled weekend!!

30 April 2013

A mum blog post.

As I sit down for the first time today, with my Muller Corner Apple Pie yogurt -
- still a bit gutted all the Eton Mess yogurts have run out!

My 5 year old is fed, watered and in bed.

I'm listening to Passenger - Let her go

And I'm thinking about today

Waking up at silly o'clock and trying to get all 3
Me
Taylor
Whisky
ready for the day ahead!

I am going to add that my son, is acting like a teenager!
I have to tickle and pull the covers off him, to get him up in the mornings now!
 Crazy!

Where has it gone!!

Once all of us we're out the door
it took approx 3 minutes to cross the road.
To the other side to then walk to my car that
has been painted in bird crap!
Thanks :)

Dropped Taylor off with Jenny (Daniel's Mum)
who very kindly drops
the smelly one off at school
when I must head to work!

I jumped back in my car
drove to work
with a (going) flatter tyre
as the roads where I live contain a lot of potholes
I mean,

what am I paying car tax for!!

Head into work
and have lovely 9-5 day with my colleagues.
Minus my vile tasting Tesco Finest Blackened Chicken Salad!

5pm comes around
I had to fill up my fuel tank at the local Shell garage
I visited earlier at lunch time for food.

For not only the Cashier guy to charge me flaming
£50
for a whole tank
but ask me once again
if I would like to get a Nectar card.

'No thanks'

I said

'If you get 500 points you get to spend £2.50'

of which my reply was

'Where does £2.50 get you these days'

He shut up!
 Hehe

I want to add also, the cashiers
are really odd
Person_One. Flirts with everyone.
Person_Two. Stares at your boobs.
Person_Three. Made comments about Cocaine.

And they all ask about the sodding card I do not wish to get!

I picked trouble up from After School Club
to find he has lost
his drinks bottle

again.

When we got in I started dinner

Taylor decided it would be fun to be hyper at home
and run around like a lunatic
(why oh why) hit himself on the head
and kept jumping from the stairs on the sofa.
This therefore exciting the dog
who also decided to be a bit of a lunny too.

When is there a glass of wine when you need one.
Haha.

So I am now sat after a long day.
Chilling :)
