Beauty Wishlist..

Now that you have seen my

I'm bringing out the Beauty Wishlist too!

Autumn is the usual time of year for
darker lipsticks/nail polishes
and intense moisturizer's

Well not for me, as I like to mix things up a bit and not go with the normal.

:)

1.
Autumn will not put me off getting this gorgeous light pink shade in There She Goes

My fellow bloggers have been raving about Topshop lipstick for a while now and I have been putting it off for too long now!
You can see in my Lipstick Collection here I have a slight obsession with nudeish colours already and this will be adding to this problem I have.
Haha.

2.
BB Cream is one of my 2013
'Thank God I found this product'
This product appears as though it will give just a gentle glow under a normal foundation base and during the Autumn/Winter months we still need to keep the tanning up to date!

The 8 in 1 formula is a bit daunting at first but it includes:

1. Evens skin tone
2. Sheer tint
3. Boosts radiance
4. 16-hour moisturisation
5. Smoothes skin
6. Prolongs tan
7. SPF 15
8. Refreshing sensation

Now apart from the baffling last point this all sounds perfect to me. Can someone explain why a BB Cream will contain a refreshing sensation?

3.
 May I ask??

Who wouldn't want Essie in their Wishlist!
So many colours! I sometimes feel there too much to choose from!

Both colours I've picked are very pale and neutral tones but I think with the perfect outfit would look stunning!

I've only found one problem with the Essie polishes, they take forever to dry! And I generally end up smudging them :(

However they barely chip and have super staying power!

4.
I've been eying these brushes up for a while now!

Recently I have been using sponges for an even application but the amount of positive reviews & people using these are incredible.

I love that the two lovely ladies who created this brand were just like me and you once. They started out small and have grown they're own name/empire. Well Done Pixiwoo :)

5.
I am a little late on the band wagon with this product but every time I'm in town it either appears to be sold out or I have two grumpy boys hurrying me up.

I certainly prefer the Peach Kiss as it appears as though it would show a beautiful warm colour with that hint of cheekyness to it!

I also think it needs to be more known that the brand is Maybelline, all I've heard is 'Baby Lips' and was unsure which stand to look at to find them.
Or is it just me being silly??

 6.
This product for me is a bit of an indulgence, I love to wrap my hair & face in a mask and sit back and let it work it's magic.

After the Summer months of caking our faces in Sun Cream, Cosmetics and Tanning Lotion I think the Autumn time is a great moment to let your skin relax and clean out all the mess.

Next year I think I might also take a trip down to the
Covent Garden Spa and just chill for the day!

What are you buying especially for Autumn??

Go manicure yourself!

While I write this blog today, I would like to add that my dog is being annoying and very distracting! As he and the dogs next door will not stop debating their views about the recent budget cuts at each other!

Yes I am talking about dogs!

I'm a bit odd like that!

Anyway

The average cost of a high street manicure will be around £20/£30
depending on what it includes!

I will talk you through the step by step
at home
mini manicure!
With bonus added pictures!! (as I do not like the sound of my voice in videos)

 Equipment:

From left to right -
Cotton Pads
Nail Polish Remover
Nail File
Nail Buffer
Cuticle Knife
Cuticle Clippers
Orange Stick
The Body Shop - Vitamin E Hand and Nail Cream
Barry M - Base and Top Coat
Rimmel London - Lasting Finish (Pear Drop)

Before:

Before, polish chipped, dry cuticles etc...

Step 1

Remove all traces of old polish
Tip: For quick erasing, hold pad on nail for 5 seconds, then wipe away excess.
It helps pull the paint off if you soak it!

Step 2

File your nails into shape.

Personally I like the Squoval shape.
The safest way to file is to swipe each movement towards the centre of the nail.
If you go back and forth and back
you can break down the nail fibres and damage them.

Step 3

Moisturisation is KEY when looking after your hands and nails.
Rub the cream or oil of your choice into the skin and showing special attention of the cuticles!

It is a manicure after all!

Step 4

With the orange stick (you can buy from Boots)
push back your cuticles on each finger.

Step 5

I think you can get Cuticle Knifes in Boots too.
The knife has to be on its side, but still able to scrape the cuticle away.
If not on it's side you can easily slip and it may cut you!

Step 6

To get the removal of those nasty cuticles
you must clip!
I have cut myself a few times so be careful.
Just cut along the long side and remove any
extra skin on the sides of the nail.

Step 7

Once the cuticle work is finished
you can buff the nail in a back and forth motion
so it creates a smooth platform for the paint

you can also do it in this downward motion too.

Step 8

If you use remover again on the nails
it will prolong the length the paint will stick!
This is because you are removing the oil or cream from before!
Without this step
you can just imagine the paint slipping off within hours of applying!

Step 9

Using you base coat, add one layer onto the nail and leave it to dry.
Best application to cover the whole nail:

Paint a line down the centre of the nail
Another one side and another the other side.

Sounds simple but a lot of people over coat,
and therefore it will never dry!

Step 10

This is what you have been waiting for!!
PAINT!

Using the same technique as above, paint the colour of your choice!
Mine was Rimmel London, Pear Drop.

Make sure you let each layer dry before applying the next.
I always use two layers of colour.

Don't forget to apply one layer of top coat when they have dried and ...

Complete!

There we are!

At home manicure!

The Body Shop Treatment

The Vitamin E treatment.

When I've blogged previously
my favorite products we're

products!

I still use Simple Toner and Cleanser from time to time.

But I tried

The Body Shop
Vitamin E Brand

It's really delicate, has a nice consistency and most importantly it all works!

This is the Hand and Nail Treatment
If you get very dry hands and nails
this is perfect!

It moisturises your hands without making it greasy.
Some hand creams can also leave a residue and take forever to soak in but this doesn't do any of that!

The Vitamin E Cleanser is thick and creamy.
It would be really good for people with dry skin.
Is gentle and leaves your skin soft!

The Vitamin E Moisturising Day Cream

Is light and soaks in quickly
and is great for if you are about to put makeup on!

The only problem I have
it's only 50ml which is really small
and for that size it is £10
which is a little too pricey for the size!

Moringa Body Scrub

This last product I have been using for a while now and can't get enough of it!

I would not recommend you do this
but I use this as an exfoliator for the face.

It smells nice and is perfect to use with self tan!

Another reason I love The Body Shop
They are Against Animal Testing
Support Community Fair Trade
Activate Self Esteem
Defend Human Rights
Protect The Plant

This is Only My Opinion

So how about your skin type?

The facts, there are 4 main skin types
We have -
 Normal
Dry
Oily
and
Sensitive

Some people then add on Combination but personally that is just a mixture of the above list and can't be classed as a different one?!
The additions are
Dehydrated
and
Mature

Before I started College studying Beauty Therapy I didn't understand skin types fully and I didn't even know what you did with Cleansers and Toners.

Lets start with Normal -

You will find that there is no excess oil
Your skin will not dry easily
and
Will not react badly to harsh products

If this is your skin type you can use any products, lotions, oils, gels exfoliators etc.. you get the point!

Dry -

You will find flaking on the surface of your skin when is at it's worst
It may have a rough texture
and
May be slightly sensitive

Dry skin means your skin has a lack of oil.
This doesn't mean smoother your face in olive oil!
Haha
But try to find an oil based Cleanser and you may find it helps.
Another point is with Dry skin it is important to exfoliate and obviously Moisturise.

Oily -

There will be a general shiny appearance
and
Your pores may be larger and more visible

As you may know Oily skin means there is excess oil
For this I recommend you avoid Oil based products like the Plague!!
Also Toner will be good as this helps reduce the appearance of pores.
and
Witch Hazel products may help as well

Sensitive -

If you have this skin type I'm guessing you will already know about it
The skins surface has a very red appearance
and
Any different products used to the skin you may react badly with

The products worth using should be perfume free!
and
Avoid harsh exfoliants as this may hurt

Dehydrated and Mature are types more effected by your lifestyle rather than what is natural.

Dehydrated -

If you are surrounded by air conditioned systems this can bring on dehydration
This is not a lack of oil it is more lack of hydration, a simple change of drinking more water could make a difference.
Appearance can be as simple as when the skin is pushed it creates a orange peel effect.

   Mature -

This is a natural progression for our skin
Prevention is key! Don't smoke and don't drink too much!
It's as simple as that!

The whole prevention of wrinkles does start when your younger the more you look after your skin now, it will pay you back when your older.

I hope this helps :)
